Discusses the nature and evolution of workaholism, and how itdiffers from other addictions. The characteristics of work to thosepeople who have the opportunity to be workaholics are detailed, andexamples are given. Some guidelines are given for counsellors dealingwith workaholics, but it is emphasised that individual treatment willnot create a permanent solution as long as organisational cultures andclimates promote workaholism.
