iii PHILIPPE HERMEL Philippe Hermel is Professor of Management at the University of Versailles Saint- Quentin (UVSQ-France) where he was the executive Dean of the Social Sciences Faculty (Business, Economic, Sociology, Humanities) and is now Honorary Dean. He is the director-founder of the UVSQ Management research center “LAREQUOI” and Chair of the European Masters Programme in Total Quality Management in collaboration with twelve universities in European countries. Previously he was faculty member at the universities of Lyon, Aix-En-Provence- Marseille, St Etienne, Georgetown (Washington, DC), Lödz (Poland), and Nancy II. At Nancy II, he was Head of Research of ICN (the University Graduate Business School of Nancy) and was also Head of the Business Department at UVSQ. He carried out his first Doctorate in 1983 on ‘Strategy Implementation’ at the University of Lyon 2, and his second PhD in 1987 at the University of Bordeaux on ‘New Forms of Strategic, Organizational and Social Development of Companies’. He earned his Masters in International Economy and Finance from the University of Paris X, his MBA from the Graduate Business School of Lyon (EM Lyon) and the International Executive Program from the Universities of Stanford and Singapore (NUS).
