Details research undertaken at Portsmouth Polytechnic where atheodolite intersection system was used to monitor deflections of areinforced concrete dam at the Mary Rose site in Portsmouth. Provides abackground description of the Mary Rose site, and the developments atPortsmouth Polytechnic which facilitated this work. Outlines the resultsof the analysis, and suggests that the technique will eventually replacesome of the conventional methods currently in use.
