The development and implementation of a production planning andscheduling model in tyre manufacturing is presented. The objective is tosimplify planning and scheduling, which is typically complex in tyremanufacturing. The procedure is divided into three parts 1 theoriginal problem is transformed into independent subproblems byconsidering the machineproduct compatibility matrix 2 the productionlots for each subproblem are determined by formulating each subproblemas a onemachine capacitated dynamic lotsizing problem 3 a heuristicalgorithm is developed to determine the production sequence for each jobon each machine.
