Abstract
There is much that is unsatisfactory in the way in which theproduction function is viewed and described in the literature. Thisarticle defines four dimensions along which aspects of the productionfunction can be measured. The dimensions are elaborated upon and theirusefulness for describing reallife situations is explored. Possibledirections for both empirical and theoretical research using the conceptare suggested.
