The tools usually used for stretch forming arc principally constructed of wood as two complementary portions of a box shaped to receive a particular section and form it to a required curvature by forcing the portions together. The bent section is then set by a stretching operation. Such tools arc not only costly to construct both in material and labour but they arc also limited to bending a particular section to a particular contourin other words each job requires its own tool.
