The Theory and Characteristics of Schoolbased Management Aims to develop the conception and theory of schoolbasedmanagement and map its characteristics of school functioning forfacilitating the ongoing discussion and effort for school managementreforms in local or international contexts. Schoolbased managementemploys theories of equifinality anddecentralization, assumes that school is aselfmanaging system and regards initiative of humanfactor and improvement of internal process asimportant. When compared with externallycontrolled schools, thecharacteristics of schoolbased managing schools are very different inschool functioning. They should have clear school mission and strongorganizational culture.
