Findings of studies on selfappraisals conducted mainly innoneducational settings indicate that selfratings are generouslyinflated, do not correlate with other sources, and show less reliabilitythan ratings from counterpositions. Reports on selfappraisals in aneducational setting using perceptions of teacher interns and theirsupervisors. Self and supervisor appraisals were found to besignificantly correlated, with selfappraisals showing less leniencythan corresponding supervisor appraisals. In addition, selfappraisalswere a better predictor of job satisfaction than supervisor appraisals.
