The problem of rapid tourism growth – an overview of the strategic question PurposeThe purpose of this introductory paper is to provide a broad overview of the significance of this theme issue.Design/methodology/approachThe introductory paper draws from macro data of tourism growth in various countries and highlights the rapid rate of tourism growth in many, especially developing countries.
