Discusses the changing role of information technology in educationto where it is now a tool for use across the curriculum withincreased networking of computers. Reports a 30 per cent increase perannum since 1985 of computers in schools. Looks at the challenge posedby the use of new technologies in education and training, theimplications of the National Curriculum, NVQs and local management ofschools. Argues the need for schools and colleges to adopt anincreasingly strategic approach and for ongoing staff development.
