Abstract
The environmental audit is here to stay. The globalconcern about environmental damage thatunderlines this development is considered andways in which some organisations are alreadyresponding and their reasons for doing so arediscussed. The green audit can be used todemonstrate compliance with new legislationmore importantly it provides management withinformation on environmental performance. Thecontent of such an audit is described in stagespreaudit, setting objectives, preparation, drawingup documentation, areas to audit, data processing,reporting, implementation and postaudit review.
