Barnaby Reeves, Senior Lecturer At its heart was the idea of a partnership UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL between service users and carers, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and voluntary eople who use psychiatric services, mental organisations. The Working Group started life in health workers and professionals have joined 1993, chaired by Avon Social Services (now Bristol Pforces to develop a new way of responding Social Services) and began work on the first draft to the needs of those in mental distress. Together of a document then known as the Social Definition they have created the Avon Mental Health of Mental Health.
