SWISSAIR'S motto is Quality wins and at Swissair's maintenance facility at Zurich Airport, the staff there can maintain and paint a plane in the same hanger and using the same rig every two to three weeks, when other airlines will take four, with no sacrifice to safety. While much of the credit must go to Swiss efficiency and hard work, a significant acknowledgement must be made to the use of CAD computeraided design in the drawing office, where the custom tools and scaffolding essential to the maintenance effort are designed.
