Chronicles research on supply chain management in the Asia Pacific region and distributed to the biggest companies in the area — 43 questionnaires were returned from 5 heavily represented industry segments — chemicals, food, transportation, communications and automotive. Stresses that the most important issues identified were: cost competitiveness; inventory management; information technology; and external and internal infrastructures. Concludes that the message is clear for managers of Asia Pacific region companies — if they are not already working on supply chain management then they have a lot of work to do.
