The Human Side of Enterprise
This is a comparative study of employee needs patterns in eightinternational subsidiaries of a multinational corporation. Although ineach country the need to control ones work environment emerges as themost dominant need, four different needs patterns are identified. Theresulting patterns suggest that specific strategies are necessary foremployee motivation in different cultural environments. Strategies thatenhance work motivation in one country should be reviewed carefullybefore being transferred to another.
