Organization Development and Total Stress Management If organization development is to achieve the objective ofimproving organizational effectiveness, it is essential that companiesadopt a proactive and preventive approach to stress management. Such anapproach would reduce the costs of stress which result directly fromorganization development and, additionally, the costs of previouslyexisting stress factors such as high labour turnover, absenteeism andreduced productivity. A practical allencompassing model is presentedwhich brings the organization towards a philosophy of totalstress management TSM.
