On the Need for Work as Such The need for work as such, along with physical need, are the twofundamental needs that flow directly from the materiality of humannature. For this reason, these two needs, taken together, are referredto as human material need. The embodiment of human beings is crucial forboth social economics and the social economy, because without embodimentthere would be no human material need and without that need there wouldbe no social economy and therefore no social economics.
