Considering the allround heaviness caused by Naval requirements, the Firefly FI has a good performancealthough to class it as a fighter is a misnomer. It would be impossible to design an aeroplane with the same engine as the latest singleseater fighters that could carry a crew of two, together with most elaborate radio, be fitted with deckarrester gear and folding wings, and still have a performance comparable with any modern fighter.
