A chemically clean surface is essential for the production of good painting and plating work, and for this purpose a number of solvents and welldesigned degreasing plants have been produced. Some companies using solvent degreasing methods have found it desirable to install large commercial degreasing machines. While such machines will soon pay for themselves through increased efficiency and reduced labour costs, degreasing requirements vary widely, depending both upon the character of substances it is desired to remove and upon the type of part to be cleaned. Experience in this field, however, has shown that frequently a most efficient setup can be made in the shops of those doing the metal cleaning, since such a machine will be best adapted to their own particular needs.
