Magnesium Alloys in the Aircraft Industry THE use of magnesium alloys in aeroplanes and engines has increased to the extent that they have become a significant factor in the rapidly expanding aircraft industry. In view of this, a general review of their development, a summary of their present applications, and an indication of how they may be utilized even more widely in the future offers a timely subject. In discussing it, the writer has omitted tables giving physical and chemical properties of the various alloys as these are adequately covered by Army, Navy, or S.A.E. Specifications and because the paper presented at this meeting last year by Mr. L. B. Abstract
