Shows how, in the Philippines, a programme (called WISE) to encourage the introduction of occupational health and safety into small‐scale enterprises has been developed with the help of the International Labour Organization. Eight technical areas are taught in a very systematic and action‐oriented programme. Local experiences and low‐cost solutions are given high priority. Gives several examples.
