In academia, unlike the rest of the world, we speak of newness and rebirth in the autumn instead of the spring. This is when the new class of students arrives, when classes start again after the summer break, and when we all get back to our regular routines – hoping that this year will be even better than last. It is the same at the IJIS and in the IAOIP. We start the serious planning for the Innova-Con conference in February with the first certification exams given at the event. (the first to be given at the conference, soon to be given on line). We are buoyed by the possibilities that seem endless at this time of year – for us, autumn is not the beginning of the end; it is the beginning of the beginning. With that in mind, we continue to move forward in this edition. Submissions to the Journal are up significantly and unfortunately we are in a position where we must decide on which to publish and which need more work. For an editor, this is a good problem to have; but for an author, not so much – as anyone who has published academic
