Labour scheduling

Labour scheduling The cost of labour is one of the most expensive overheads the retailer faces today and not surprisingly, any efforts to cut down on costs in this area are of great interest. At the CIES conference held in Paris in November EDP focus on store operations Marcel Slypen of Delhaize Le Lion delivered this paper on labour scheduling. It traces the company's experiments with data capture from POS systems as a means of monitoring and controlling the use of staff. The results are promising and Delhaize Le Lion are now convinced of the effectiveness of the equipment they used and its beneficial impact on labour scheduling. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Retail and Distribution Management Emerald Publishing
