Findings – Many of the problems originally identified over 15 years ago are still prevalent, exacerbated even further because of the complexity associated with linking intra‐ and inter‐organisational IS. Originality/value – The paper is of value in providing the reader with several touch points that serve to outline the purposes and challenges facing those seeking to evaluate their IS.
