Filling and packaging lines improves production of marine paints by 100 at International Paint 12 PIGMENT AND RESIN TECHNOLOGY November 1990 Filling and packaging lines improves productio n of marine paints by 100 % at Internationa l Paint A n investment of approx £300,000 in new filling and robotic palletising lines has no w come o n strea m for one of the world's market leaders in marine paints, International Paint plc of Felling, Gateshead, part of the Courtaulds Coatings Group. Virtually all the new equipment for these lines has been supplied by OBS Machines Ltd of Milton Keynes, and has been designed to use and handle a higher quality of container and closure to conform with legislation governing the carriage of hazardous goods by sea. The whole system which is computer-controlled, wil l improve productivity by at least 100% an d wil l also remove wha t has been a bottle neck in the past. The new equipment comprises a ne w De Vree Type V16 6 Twin automatic filling, weighing and closing machine, automatic denester/feeders, automatic lid dispensers, Jorgense n container conveying an d accum - mulation systems, tw o labellers, a PMN robotic palletising system and a modernised De Vree Type V136 filling machine.
