Facilities Management in West Germany In Germany, the term facilities management FM as well as theintegrative approach to regard buildings, stock and staff as a whole, isrelatively new. Although sophisticated organisation systems have beeninstalled in those sectors, methods and means of facilities managementhave been lacking up to now. The central element of good FM is theintroduction of an organisational concept, equipment files and aCADadministration of buildings and stock. The main obstacle to rapidintroduction of FM is the high initial costs, which are caused by theinitial costly and largescale registration of data.
