Enterprise resource planning: the emerging organizational value systems Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a set of applications that automate finance and human resource departments and help manufacturers handle jobs such as order processing and production scheduling. This paper attempts to provide an overview of an ERP system along with the real experiences of its implementation. Reports results of a survey of several ERP companies and considers factors such as future trends in ERP including developments such as Web-based procurement applications and outsourcing of ERP applications. Abstract
