Editorial SAJBS 6,1 Editor’s perspective In its first five years, SAJBS has published research on a wide range of topics that are increasingly relevant in the South Asian context such as transformational leadership, organizational ethics, organizational justice, green buying behavior, and the impact of macroeconomic factors related to the behavior of both firms and markets. Table I provides a breakdown of the areas of focus of the 30 most cited papers published in SAJBS to date. It is evident that many sub areas of research that have been popular in the developed world are emerging as relevant and important in South Asia. Much of this research examined the extent to which South Asian countries are similar and different to the West. We summarize important ideas from the published research in SAJBS since its inception, outline the main themes of the papers in this current issue, and discuss prospects for the journal moving forward. Important SAJBS research themes Leadership has occupied a central role in management practice and hence, has interested researchers globally. There is a vast literature on leadership skills, traits, styles, behavior, and best practices.
