Abstract
Discusses the reappraisal at Leeds Polytechnic of methodology fordeveloping teaching and learning materials in general, and independentlearning materials in particular. Outlines two models for establishingproduction facilities and two models for designing and creatingmaterials. Discusses the strategy adopted by the Polytechnic, which hasled to the establishment of a staffaccess laboratory. Illustrates how alecturer can develop a range of learning resources from wordprocessednotes to fully interactive computerbased material with integratedautomatic assessment. Reflects on progress to date.
