Many lubrication troubles can be avoided by keeping a control over the consistency of deliveries of oils and greases. A part from the fact that errors can occur and the wrong grade be ordered or sent, markings can sometimes become erased from barrels and lubricants can become contaminated, during storage. In this article the author attempts to assist the consumer to check deliveries so as to ensure the maintenance of consistent quality by means of visual and simple instrument tests that require no skill and the minimum of time.
