Abstract
The rising conflict in the global village indicates thatsecondwave ideologies which promote competition, greed andselfinterest must be replaced with a thirdwave doctrine thatencourages cooperation, altruism and service to others. It appears thata paradigm shift has already taken place which makes it possible topropose a thirdwave ideology called competruism. This conservationdoctrine has the potential of raising the survival chances of mankind inthis period of increasing uncertainty.
