AUTOMATION PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN THE NEW ENGINE ASSEMBLY LINES INSTALLED BY CITRON AT ITS TREMERY PLANT. THE LINES BUILD ENGINES WHICH EQUIP THE CINTRON XM AND PEUGEOT 605 Set up in 1979 by Citron and Peugeot subsidiary, SMAE Societe Mecanique Automobile de l'Est, the Tremery plant employs some 4,400 people to produce 5,600 engines a day, that is almost four a minute. The latest engine to enter production is the XUD 11, the four cylinder 12valve diesel version fitted in the new top quality models.
