CHARGE TRANSFER IN THE PRESENCE OF POTENTIAL BARRIERS Numerical and analytical solutions of the carrier continuity equation are found for the problem of charge transfer in chargecoupled devices in the presence of potential barriers. The analytical solution is for a rectangular potential barrier and is useful for obtaining a qualitative understanding of charge transfer over a potential barrier.
