Abstract
PERIODICALLY there are announced machine tools that are so radically different and distinctive in their functions from the usual practice, that they create a new method or process. They are outstanding in the field of mechanical achievement and warrant more than the usual classification of a new machine tool. This is particularly true of the Heald Internal Centreless Grinding Machine Fig. 1 for which Alfred Herbert are the agents in this country. This tool, with its centreless holding principle, revolutionises the present method of internal grinding on many kinds of work.
