ANALYTICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL STUDIES ON THE CONSOLIDATION OF MULTILAYERED SOILS Using the Heaviside operator, a single partial differential equation is obtained for the spacetime variation of the pore pressure in two adjacent soil layers undergoing simultaneous consolidation. A closed form expression for the solution to the problem is given as a generalized Fourier series. Abstract
