All Together Now Supporting Leadership of Collaborations in Schools leadership development across public services Section Editor: Gill Newton This article introduces the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) and provides a broad overview of its remit and work. It then outlines the main challenges facing school leaders in England, focusing in more depth on the implications of the 2004 Children’s Act and how the NCSL is addressing these. ‘All Together Now’: Supporting Leadership of Collaborations in Schools Maggie Farrar, Operational Director – ECM and Standards, National College for School Leadership and Andy Coleman, Senior Research Officer, National College for School Leadership was established in 2000 and its physical centre – Introduction and background the £28 million Learning and Conference Centre in to the NCSL Nottingham – was opened by Prime Minister Tony Every child in a well-led school Blair in October 2002.
