Afterword The International Conference on Agribusiness in Emerging Economies conference was held on January 6-7, 2016 in the Institute of Rural Management Anand, Gujarat, India in collaboration with the Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies, 191 The Whitman School of Management and the South Asia Center in the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, USA. The conference brought together scholars, practitioners and policy makers from around the world to present and share their original research and expertise on agribusiness in developing and emerging economies. Agribusiness in these countries plays a critical role that affects the livelihoods and well-being of a wide array of people, the growth of new and established organizations and the economic vitality of their economies. The conference covered a broad spectrum of relevant themes, methodologies and research approaches including empirical, conceptual, review and case studies. The conference was attended by 150 participants from 17 Indian states and international participants from Uganda, USA and Sri Lanka. In total, 84 participants presented their papers on various dimensions of agribusiness like marketing, public policy issues, dairy cooperatives, supply/value chains, contract farming, finance, innovations and entrepreneurship.
