•Flashover tests were conducted under longitudinal ventilation conditions.•The radiant heat flux to the floor is the predominant point to the rubber ignition.•The ∅500mm alcohol ignited the rubber at 15.17kW/m2 radiant heat flux and 0.1m/s.•The ∅500mm diesel ignited rubber earlier at 16.2kW/m2 radiant heat flux and 0.1m/s.•The 0.5m/s smoke exhaust reduced the radiant heat and restrained the rubber ignition.
