1 Introduction</h5> Despite promising premises, renewable energy systems are not infallible, which is primarily why the progress in the employment of renewable power generation is rather sluggish. This trend is highlighted in a report by Jäger-Waldau and Ossenbrink  ; positing the fact that the European Union stops short of completely exploiting the sources of renewable energy that are available to them. Moreover, Paço and Varejão  posited that there are some obstacles preventing the full implementation of renewable energy resources, especially with regards to policies. Besides, the IEA  , in the World Energy Outlook 2012, found that even though the new development and policies planned by many nations are being accounted for, the global community still fall short of charting a sustainable path in the context of a global energy system.
