In this work, the synthesis and characterization of a series of star azo-oligomers bearing amino, amino-methoxy, amino-nitro and amino-cyano substituted azobenzene units and oligo(ethylene glycol) segments is reported. The full characterization of the obtained compounds was achieved by FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies, and their molecular weights were determined by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. The optical properties of these compounds were studied by absorption spectroscopy in solution. Abstract
