Simulation model of the LNG carrier with podded propulsion Part 1: Forces generated by pods The presented paper is an attempt to describe different forces generated by the pods propulsion system installed on the sea-going vessel. The general methodology of the calculation process is presented at the beginning. Next the equations describing propulsive forces formed by the pods are given. The phenomenon of the interaction between pods is incorporated into calculation scheme. Abstract
