•The inverse problem of finding non-rotating isospectrals of rotating Rayleigh beam is addressed in this paper. •A transformation is used to establish the isospectrality between the non-rotating Rayleigh beams and rotating Rayleigh beams. •The equivalence of the natural frequency and the mode shapes between the beams is confirmed using the finite element method. •Experiments can be done to determine the frequencies of rotating beams by using their isospectral counterparts.
