One of his colleagues, Philip James, who joined AERE on the same day recalls that “Barry had experience of two-phase ﬂow from his PhD work whereas I was new to the ﬁeld and although we approached the subject from different directions, Barry’s being more experimental and mine more theoretical, we had many dis- cussions about the intricacies of droplet generation and transport”.
