Abstract

A novel m-methyl red dye-based receptor as “naked eye” colorimetric probe was designed and synthesized for selectively sensing Pb2+ via an easy-to-use test strip. The probe has been used in the development of practically viable colorimetric staining agent for Pb2+ in live Daphnia magna.
