•Thermoelastic behavior of nose caps under thermal and mechanical loads is studied.•The proposed method is applicable to 3D bodies with conical or cylindrical surfaces.•The software has been developed on the basis of the proposed mathematical apparatus.•3D FE-modeling is performed for the different Mach numbers and angles of attack.•Non-linear thermoelastic problems in anisotropic structures have been studied.
