As library historians we cannot treat libraries in vacuo, as institutions not related to the development of the materials that have (until recently) been our particular stock-in-trade; but equally we cannot ignore the social, cultural, or educational context of libraries http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Library History Edinburgh University Press
