Abstract
T h e S h a p e o f t h e I: A P o e t i c s o f F o r m J u l i e C a r r a n d J o h n - M i c h a e l R i v e r a n this double-issue o f ELN, we begin w ith the question " w h o is no w ? " in o rd er to explore the com plicated renderings o f s u b je ctivity in co n te m p o ra ry culture. Our first issue features articles by im p ortan t scholars and w rite rs w hose w o rk expands o u r con te m p o ra ry un derstanding o f subjectivity. Our second issue w ill gather shorter essays that respond and interact w ith the lead essays, creating a series o f conversations and debates.
