Bibliography. $50.00 (cloth) Modern Korean Drama: An Anthology is an essential addition to the growing canon of Korean literature made available in the English language, filling major lacunae in the translation of South Korean dramatic works. I echo the sentiment of other reviewers that this volume, a long overdue and much needed publi cation, accomplishes the task it set for itself most thoroughly and superbly: to introduce a diverse array of significant achievements by seven South Korean playwrights. The anthology spans a period of fifty years, off ering one play each from the 1960s, 1970s, and the 2000s, and four plays from the 1990s. Despite the fact that it does not include a work from the 1980s-probably the most politicized decade in South Korean history-the volume invites readers into a world of remarkable diversity of themes, topics, and concerns treated by these seven plays.
