Douglas Hastings (M.P.A., J.D.) is an attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C. with the law firm of Epstein Becker Borsody & Green, P.C., specializing in health law. His areas of practice include, in addition to peer review, health maintenance organizations, health planning, health care antitrust, and exempt organization tax law. A. Everette James Jr. is Professor of Radiology and of Medical Administration, and Lecturer in Legal Medicine, at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Frank Sloan is Professor of Economics, James Blunstein is Professor of Law, Alan C. Winfield is Director of Genitourinary Radiology, and Henry P. Pendergrass is Professor of Radiology, all at Vanderbilt. Several of the authors are also associated with the Vanderbilt Institute for Public Policy Studies. J. -Matthias Graf Schulenburg is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Institute of International Economic Relations at Munich University, West Germany (Institut fur Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen, Universitat Munchen). His principal research interests are health economics, and theories of risk and insurance.
