A Second Look at Personality Test Validation

A Second Look at Personality Test Validation Summary A study of the Guilford‐Zimmerman Temperament Survey with life insurance salesmen failed to reveal any statistically significant differences between criterion groups in terms of an item analysis or differences in mean scores on the sub‐scales of the test. An examination, however, of the criterion groups' raw score distributions revealed a useful difference that held up in a cross‐check sample. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Personnel Psychology Wiley

Abstract

Summary A study of the Guilford‐Zimmerman Temperament Survey with life insurance salesmen failed to reveal any statistically significant differences between criterion groups in terms of an item analysis or differences in mean scores on the sub‐scales of the test. An examination, however, of the criterion groups' raw score distributions revealed a useful difference that held up in a cross‐check sample.
